Electives

For this course, I took a speech and a rhetoric class at Harvard EdX. I put together my own speech about what my family should go see in Washington, D.C. (in conjunction with my senior government class). Before this class, my understanding of American history was confined to Hamilton. I dreaded speaking. I still do, but I know the parts to put together to make sure the speech is on point.

I’ve broken down rhetorical devices to analyze political speeches and propaganda, and I focused on knowing my audience in order to appeal to their concerns and make counterpoints to their biggest hesitations.
